Selling your home? Give it the one-hour overhaul!
So, you’re currently in the process of selling your home and you’ve received a sudden influx of calls from people who are interested in viewing your property. Only problem is; you’ve been so busy that you just haven’t had time to make your house look presentable, let alone get it re-painted and decorated! The good news is, however, there are plenty of ways to get your home gleaming again – all done in just one hour. Here’s how…
- Away with the clutter… A cluttered and therefore disorganised environment isn’t going to attract potential buyers into putting down an offer so get rid of anything that you don’t really need. Make sure the house is looking tidy and presentable, especially the entrance and corridor; you need to make a good first impression!
- Uncover all floor space. It’s all too tempting leaving shoes at the door and coats lying over the stairs (especially after a hard day at work!), but try to tidy away any objects covering up the floor the best you can or purchase a shoe cupboard and coat rack. You might be surprised how much bigger the room looks after uncovering the floor!
- Clean the windows. Give all windows a quick once-over, washing away any fingerprints or smudges. Work around the window frames and wash away any dirt until you feel they are gleaming. Don’t forget the outside of the windows too!
- Hoover and polish. Hoover each room in the house if you haven’t already done so, but don’t forget to put it away once you’re finished! Give all shelves and tops a quick dust and polish too – you won’t believe how good everything looks after a brief clean up.
